Botanical
studies in brass,
hand made by
Sara Burnand
Capturing the delicacy of flowers and plants to give permanence to nature’s fleeting beauty.

About Sara
I work entirely by hand using brass sheet and wire. Every flower and leaf is cut, shaped, wired and finished in my studio in Devon. The process is slow and deliberate, and no two pieces are identical.
Before focusing on Blooms in Brass, I spent several years working in outdoor education and Forest Schools, immersed in seasonal change and the slower rhythms of nature. That time shaped how I observe nature and encouraged me to value the small, transient things that might otherwise pass unnoticed. With my work I aim to celebrate nature and give it a permanence.
My brass plants and flowers are presented in vintage terracotta pots, reclaimed ceramics or glass bottles and vases. I also make a few decorative hanging pieces. I have a few ‘favourites’ that I will always make but I love working on new and bespoke designs too.
